What's in My Closet (New Shoes!)

It has been awhile since I bought shoes and buying online can be really iffy. I have recently noticed no matter what shoes I wear except sneakers that my feet or legs hurt. I did order sneakers too but they were on back order. They are really cute too, red with hearts slipons.

These Downtown Wedges by Avon are very comfortable. The ankle straps don't dig into my ankles and the padding makes them more like slippers. The heel is an inch and a half and these shoes are true to size. I wore the shoes for a few hours and they didn't hurt! The ankle straps work or you can use back zip to get shoes on. These shoes will be available in about 2 weeks use code 944726 in search field to find them.

I think these shoes are pretty damn cute. What do you think?

Makeup Artistry by Deedee (Envy)

This shoot is part of the seven deadly sins series. You can see my last shoot here Wrath. I love this series since we are using abandoned sites to shoot at. You can read about our behind the scenes mishaps here.

Makeup Artistry by Deedee (Behind The Scene disasters)

I divided this photo shoot into a two part series. One is behind the scenes and the second post will be the final result for The Envy desert shoot.

We always have fun at photo shoots but things usually don't get crazy enough to create a blog post. This shoot is the exception.

The photographer (Harold) left for the shoot early to scout out the location. He at one point got stuck in the sand with his car! He was alone too! He did manage to get out and get around the deeper sand luckily. While he was alone at the house he heard noises including a car door shutting. He thought one of us had arrived and walked out and around the house but no one was there! He should not hear car doors shutting since nothing is close to this house. During the shoot outside of the house the photographer was squatting down to take some pictures and sat on a very sharp cactus! Since we started late we were there still shooting at dusk.  I was getting a couple of photos on this cool looking road with the desert in the background, when all of a sudden I hear a boom boom and a scream OMG are you OK? This house had a huge hole in the floor which was a fast pass to the basement. Luckily Harold caught himself before he fell all the way in, but his camera did fall into the hole. Right before that happened he said to the model (Maryam) this house is going to kill me! Well I guess it almost did. So the camera by some miracle was OK. He had to retrieve it going into the dark basement but he found it.  In the end all was well.

Below are pictures of us setting up, doing makeup and other fun stuff. Harold told me it was OK to blog about his mishaps.

Entry to the basement

Grave? No probably just someone fooling around.

This is the hole to the basement!

We thought this was pretty cool since the theme of our shoot was Envy

The cactus that bites.

I put this picture on Instagram which I am currently addicted too. I love the filters.

Vintage Circus (Cheetah girl)

This is the last post in my four part series called Vintage Circus. To see the other posts click Clown, Animal Trainer and Ring Master. My part in this makeup was the beauty makeup. Patricia did the body painting (cheetah spots). I used the mark touch and glow shimmer cubes to do the makeup for highlights, cheeks and eyes. A little bit of mascara and a neutral MAC lip stick called Speed Dial.

Meow!

What's in my Closet (Jewelry from Old Town San Diego)

Old Town San Diego is an awesome place to buy Jewelry. You can find so many vendors and most of the Jewelry is hand made. Here are a couple of pieces I picked up last week.

If you notice the ring is a perfect match for my bracelet I got at an antique shop. I blogged about the bracelet here. This ring was in Tienda De Reyes on a low shelf, in a basket. It was half price $4.00!

I bought this bracelet because I am obsessed with cobalt blue and it does match my blue polish.
It was only $2.99! I got it at Case De Aguirre in the kiosks directly outside of back door.

Look past this awesome Donkey (I want this Donkey!) and you can see the kiosks.

Scenery to Photograph (Hotel Del Coronado)

One of my favorite quotes is: Have luggage will travel.

My New Year resolution (which I don't usually do) is to travel more. It may just be driving distance travel but that works, I live in an amazing state! My first post is the Hotel Del Coronado. The Hotel Del has undergone a huge transformation since my first visit years ago.  I really just like the old building to be honest. My love of this hotel besides the beach is the interesting history of movie stars, ghosts and other fun stuff. The new buildings are very beautiful as well.  If you go here park for free beach side. The ride across the Coronado bridge is also free and a beauty itself. The Island has lots of shops and restaurants, a beautiful beach and the Hotel has shops and restaurants too. You can walk around the hotel for free or get a Starbucks like we did (very expensive!). Here are a few photos of the hotel, beach and Ice Ring they have during the holiday season. Ice Skating on the beach is pretty cool.

If you would like to see other places I have visited and blogged about you can see those posts on my Scenery to Photograph page

Have you been to this hotel?
